Quantitative Developer

Location: London
Working pattern: Hybrid, with 3 days in the office
Salary: £120,000–£150,000 base + bonus

A leading financial news and intelligence business is looking for a Quant Developer to join a newly developing, greenfield initiative focused on transforming real-time financial information into actionable data for institutional clients.

The business has decades of experience providing financial intelligence across markets including Fixed Income and FX, and is now exploring how AI, LLMs and quantitative modelling can unlock significantly more value from its data.

The opportunity

You'll work on the development and application of quantitative models using large volumes of financial and market data, with a particular focus on turning unstructured information into structured, machine-readable data that can be used by clients.

The role will involve:

  • Structuring and making large volumes of unstructured financial data machine-readable

  • Developing and back-testing quantitative models and factors

  • Researching how financial news and context can become actionable for clients

  • Helping turn technical research into new data products and commercial opportunities

  • Working closely with sales, enterprise and senior stakeholders to understand client requirements

  • Communicating your findings through research and whitepaper-style material

This is a high-autonomy, greenfield role where you'll have genuine input into the direction of the product rather than simply working from an established roadmap.

What we're looking for

We're interested in people with around 4+ years' experience in a quantitative development or research environment, ideally from a sell-side / investment banking background.

You'll ideally have:

  • Strong Python and programming skills

  • Experience building quantitative models

  • Strong understanding of financial markets

  • Experience working with large or unstructured datasets

  • Exposure to AI, LLMs, NLP or machine learning

  • A degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or a similar discipline

  • The ability to communicate technical ideas to commercial and non-technical stakeholders

  • An entrepreneurial mindset and the confidence to work independently

The role also involves working closely with clients and commercial teams to understand their requirements and translate quantitative research and data into products that deliver clear commercial value.
