Technology Delivery Manager - Energy Trading Markets (LNG)
Contract: £950 - £1400 / day (Inside IR35)
Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days per week)
Contract Length: 6 months
You’ll be joining a leading energy trading organisation to oversee the delivery of technology solutions supporting their Global LNG Trading business.
You will act as the key technology partner to the LNG trading desk, ensuring systems, data, and tooling enable commercial performance across trading, shipping, and risk management. This is a hands-on delivery role for someone who understands trading workflows, can lead a senior technology team, and can translate front-office requirements into scalable, reliable solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
Business Partnering
- Serve as the primary technology liaison for the LNG trading desk.
- Translate commercial and trading requirements into technology deliverables.
- Build effective relationships with traders, analysts, and senior stakeholders.
Technology Delivery
- Lead end-to-end delivery of LNG technology initiatives from requirements through to deployment.
- Oversee development teams to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, risks, and dependencies.
Solution Design & Modernisation
- Work with architects to design scalable, secure, and integrated solutions.
- Modernise existing ETRM capabilities and extend tooling on top of the EOS platform.
- Ensure seamless integration with trading systems, market data, and risk platforms.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to use AI/ML, analytics, and cloud technologies to improve trading performance.
- Drive improvements in system performance, usability, and reliability to increase adoption.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure all technology initiatives meet regulatory standards and internal governance.
- Maintain documentation and audit trails across all changes.
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a team of seven senior technologists, providing direction, support, and clear objectives.
Skills you’ll need:
- Strong experience delivering technology solutions in a trading environment.
- Understanding of LNG trading workflows, freight, shipping operations, and risk management.
- Experience with ETRMs and trading platforms (EOS or Endur experience preferred).
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience leading modernisation or transformation programmes.
- Technical background in development, systems integration, or data engineering is advantageous.
- Proven people leadership experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, front-office environment.
