This exciting payments startup is seeking a top-tier Java Developer to join their core development team. You'll play a vital role in designing, developing, and optimizing mission-critical components of their platform.
Here's what you bring to the table:
- 5+ years of back-end engineering experience with a proven track record of success
- Advanced proficiency in Java (or another JVM language) and a deep understanding of low-latency principles
- Solid expertise in building high-throughput, distributed systems specifically for payments applications
- Experience with payments infrastructure: This could include building core payment processing systems, fraud detection systems, or integrations with payment gateways
- A commitment to clean code: Experience with DDD and TDD is a plus
- A thirst for knowledge: You're an open-minded quick learner who embraces challenges
- Startup hustle: You have the drive and determination to tackle ambiguous problems and handle the demands of a fast-paced environment
What you'll be working on:
- Building payments infrastructure utilizing low-latency technologies: Design and develop components for core processing, risk management, and integrations with payment networks
- Optimizing the latency and throughput of our systems for peak performance and scalability
- Implementing advanced fraud detection algorithms
- Integrating with various payment gateways and other financial services
Tech Stack: Java 17 (upgrading to 21 soon), CQRS, Jooq, Javalin, Aeron cluster (or similar low-latency messaging system), Cloud Platform (e.g., GCP, AWS), Kubernetes, Pulumi, Redis, Pub/Sub
