North Starr is working with a technology business that is focused on building semantic applications for the development population. Our client is looking for a Web Engineer to work on their back-end technologies including Java OOP, Rest APIs, MVC framework within an Agile environment.

As a Web Engineer you will be working with incredibly bright and passionate technologists who are focused on changing the way in which semantic applications are used by the wider community. As a back-end web engineer using Java OOP, you will be working on distributed real-time systems and problem solving on a daily basis.

You will also work closely with some of the brightest algorithmic and machine learning specialists from across Europe to bring to life R&D ideas.

As a Web Engineer you will have experience in building web application back-ends using Java OOP within MVC frameworks. You will have to gather requirements, design, plan and develop all applications. This is not a role for someone who doesn’t believe in their ability to make a significant contribution to a business.

To be considered for the role of Web Engineer, (Back-end, Java OOP, MVC framework, Rest, Agile, Git, API, Algorithms), skills in the following are essential:

  • Strong academic background in a computing fieild (STEM)
  • Server side development experience in Java OOP
  • Web development experience with MVC
  • REST API experience
  • Agile development experience in a commercial setting
  • Web technologies such as JavaScript, CSS3, HTML5 would be advantageous
