Harrington Starr are once again partnering with a market-leading Investment Management firm in the hiring of a Senior Specialist Quality Engineer (Java) to act as a ‘second in command’ for QA as and when required for their London offices.
This new full-time, permanent job opportunity would suit a lead QE or QE Tech Lead with extensive Automation experience to act as an ‘Automation Coach / Specialist’. This role would see the individual spend dedicated time with each of the nine product teams on-site to look at and help improve automation, exploratory testing, CI/CD pipelines, and more.
This new role would be ideal for a senior, technical Quality Engineer who embodies the ‘shift left’ approach and always has constant improvement in mind; there are no line-management or leadership responsibilities in this new role so all your time is freed up to push for improvements across the business and implement your own strategy!

Harrington Starr are once again partnering with a market-leading Investment Management firm in the hiring of a Senior Specialist Quality Engineer (Java) to act as a ‘second in command’ for QA as and when required for their London offices.
This new full-time, permanent job opportunity would suit a lead QE or QE Tech Lead with extensive Automation experience to act as an ‘Automation Coach / Specialist’. This role would see the individual spend dedicated time with each of the nine product teams on-site to look at and help improve automation, exploratory testing, CI/CD pipelines, and more.

Responsibilities
- Spending significant time with each product team in the business (1 – 2 months) to help improve automation, exploratory testing, CI/CD pipelines, and more
- Help to assure the quality throughout the development lifecycle
- Involvement in the technical design, implementation and automated testing within a CI/CD pipeline
- Design BDD tests and create automated tests from the BDD scenarios and executing within the CI/CD pipeline
- Take the lead in communicating around automation and improving it
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
- 5 - 10 years’ + experience within Quality Assurance, preferably in Senior / Lead positions
- Programming language in Java – Strong Java skills required
- Very strong communication skills – vital to succeed in this role
- Experience in working with cross functional teams
- Experienced in both UI and API test automation
