Harrington Starr is currently working with a leading financial services company.
Our client, is looking to hire a Senior Network Security Engineer.The successful candidate will be reporting to the Infrastructure Security Architect and will be involved in the entire life-cycle of delivering technology requirements.
The role will be based in their offices in London and they are looking for an initial 6 month rolling contract to come in and help monitor all security platforms and associated software, such as Checkpoint R80, firewalls, review IPS, Structure of policy, risk assessments audit and manage the process
•Implementation of critical network security infrastructure to support services, on both a strategic and tactical level.
•Provide the organisation with SME expertise in Firewall security, IPS & Content filtering
•Provide expert advice to senior technology and security stakeholders.
•Provide expert knowledge of Enterprise Security concepts, frameworks and products
•Resolve unique and complex policy and configuration problems within area of responsibility.
•Work with project teams improving Security Operations Centre and Security Incident Event Management capabilities
•Review and improve firewall and IPS rules and policies
•Develop new processes for improving maturity of IDS/IPS and firewall changes
Requirements for the role: Skills:
•Strong communication, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
•Service delivery experience in a demanding environment.
•Ability to prioritize and multitask in a pressured environment.
•Ability to work with a range of stakeholders including Security Operations Staff, external vendor technical staff
•Expert knowledge of the latest R80.x Check Point technologies with focused on Firewall policy, IPS, Content Filtering, Threat Emulation& Extraction
•Good Knowledge and experience of reviewing Check Point R80 and manage the process
•Structure of Policy
•Check Point VPN configuration troubleshooting
•Extensive experience of working with Check Point IPS signatures and events
•Ability to analyse and deal with Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE)
•Knowledge and experience with Tufin
•Good knowledge of other Application & Content Delivery platforms (Bluecoat).
•Good understanding of SIEM concepts
Knowledge and Experience:
•Minimum 8 years’ hands-on experience with Check Point products
•Minimum CCSE certified.
•Experience of troubleshooting complex security issues in a Global enterprise network.
•Experience of working in Financial Services.
