Harrington Starr are proud to be partnered with a leading investment bank that wish to add a Senior Java Engineer to their renowned, globally distributed risk team. You will be joining a team of engineers focussed on the development of our clients in-house risk platform that calculates market risk, credit risk and margin management. 

The successful candidate will be someone with a knowledge of finance, ideally in a risk or trading environment, but this is not essential. You will have an in-depth understanding of microservices architecture and ample experience using Spring Boot. 

The Role

• Tech Lead for a database migration project

• Work closely with trading desks for platform improvements

• Liaise with the product team, and senior stakeholders for architectural decisions

• Containerisation using docker

• Mentor junior engineers

The Package

• Salary up to £130,000 (Negotiable for more experienced candidates)

Interview Process

• 1st Stage – 15-20 minute initial introductory call

• 2nd Stage - 1 hour Technical interview with Senior Developer(s)

• 3rd Stage - 1 hour Culture fit interview with team manager
