Senior Cloud Storage Engineer, Top Hedge Fund, New York
My client, a top hedge fund, is hiring for a Senior Cloud Storage Engineer in their New York office to help build out a reliable large-scale cloud-based storage service. This is an exceptional opportunity to work in a world-class enterprise environment using cutting-edge technology.
Candidates should have at least 4 years of technical experience in areas including automation using a language such as Python, Go, Rust, or Ruby, strong Security practices, Infrastructure as Code practices, monitoring such as Prometheus or InfluxDB, configuration management such as Salt, Puppet, and Ansible, and version control such as Git or Perforce.
Experience working with public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP in a hybrid storage environment is highly preferable (some data on-prem, some in S3, GC, or Glacier). In addition, experience with vendor negotiation, ROI financial modeling, migration planning, and technology strategy is advantageous as is experience (either as a developer or an operator) with software defined object storage (Swift, Ceph, Cloudian, or Scality) or HPC filesystems (Lustre, GPFS). Lastly, experience managing and automating enterprise storage such as EMC and NetApp is preferable.
This role is available on a contract W-2 or permanent basis. Unfortunately, neither Harrington Starr nor our end-client can sponsor visas now or in the future.
