Sales and Implementation Consultant - Private Markets, asset management, data analytics

What it is: As a Sales and Implementation Consultant on the Private Markets team, you will interact directly with clients and prospects to cultivate strong relationships and guide them through the use of eVestment’s Private Markets products. You’ll communicate daily with Institutional Investors, Consultants, and Asset Managers to better understand their business processes and data analytics requirements and help them make the most of eVestment tools. You will also prepare and perform product demonstrations as part of the sales process.

To be successful in this role, you’ll have first-class written and verbal communication skills. You’ll be comfortable interacting with clients and prospects via phone, email, and in-person and possess the ability to quickly understand their business procedures to effectively communicate intended use of eVestment Private Markets applications. You will provide training, support, and ongoing relationship management and proactively communicate with investment managers to introduce them to eVestment. Additionally, you’ll collaborate with the eVestment client service, product strategy, marketing, sales, and technology teams regularly. A strong interest and knowledge of the Private Markets investing environment and trends is crucial.

What it isn’t: If the thought of partnering with clients, leading Web-exes, and troubleshooting doesn’t appeal to you, then this role won’t be a good fit. We love technology and metrics, as well as client interaction. This role isn’t routine or unhurried. If you prefer relaxed, quiet days or don’t have a well-developed sense of urgency, it would be best to pass on us and keep looking.

We are looking for proof of your passion for financial software and data. Having a BS/BA/BBA in Business, Economics, or Finance is a great start along with 5+ years of experience in financial services—preferably in the Private Markets space. Exceptional attentiveness to detail and strong customer service skills are a must.

A certain degree of personal accountability, creativity, and latitude are required and encouraged. Your desire to build working knowledge of applicable financial terminology and industry best practices will help you be successful in this role and in our company. We need excellence. This means your communication skills are stellar: polished, professional communication skills and detailed analytical skills are vital as client interaction is high. We need innovation. This means you question the status quo and love asking “What if…?” We need teamwork. This means when a colleague asks “Can someone help me with…?” you’re quick to answer “Yes.” We need humility. This means you understand about lending a hand where necessary. We need integrity. This means you deliver results with little supervision and don’t hesitate to acknowledge, own, and resolve errors you’ve made (we all make them, we just have to learn from them).
