Regulatory Data Management Specialist – New York, NY – Up to $130,000

Harrington Starr has partnered with an innovative financial technology company based in Midtown which is hiring a Regulatory Data Management Specialist. The Regulatory Data Management Specialist will support clients by using the company’s proprietary regulatory data management tools to implement and execute projects focused around cleansing, managing, and reporting on regulatory data for financial trading transactions for financial services clients such as broker-dealers. This will be an excellent opportunity to join a small, but fast-growing company and gain extensive hands-on experience as part of a close-knit team working with large volumes of data within current regulatory reporting frameworks.

Desired Background:

Technical Experience:

  • 1-4 years’ experience working with large SQL databases is required (Oracle SQL strongly preferred in addition to MS SQL-Server)
  • Experience with T-SQL and PL-SQL including query optimization and database performance tuning
  • Experience working with technology in a UNIX/Linux environment including scripting is strongly preferred
  • ETL experience preferred
  • Computer Science degree is strongly preferred

Business / Domain / Industry Experience:

  • Experience within financial services, capital markets, broker-dealer, or financial trading environments is required
  • Understanding of trade lifecycle data flows is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of financial trading or broker-dealer regulatory reporting and data compliance requirements is preferred
  • Knowledge of FINRA, SEC, and OCC reporting requirements including Blue Sheets, ACT, OATS, and LOPR is strongly preferred

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communications abilities both written and verbal
  • Ability to collaborate with internal team members as well as stakeholders on the client-side as needed
