QA Automation Manager

Our client is urgently seeking a experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Test Analyst to join a fast-paced, energetic and successful London based QA Team and reporting to the Head of Quality, the Agile QA Analyst will be an important part of the QA department

 

Working in London and reporting to the Head of Quality, the role will be a key part of the QA department.  Key areas of responsibility are:

Automation

  • Automation use in new initiatives – we have many different shaped projects running concurrently.  We need someone that can engage and engineer the right approach
  • Development, maintenance and execution of automated tests using the existing automation framework, Protractor, Selenium, or if appropriate identifying and implementing other suitable Test Tools
  • Guiding Test Analysts and Development Team in the usage and development of automated tests
  • Liaising with Developers and Architects to identify methods to test stories before the code is written so any hooks can be designed in
  • Development and maintenance of Test Data Sets used by the Automated tests
  • Creating or enhancing other tools that simplify repetitive tasks, again saving testing time e.g. Test Harnesses
  • Setting standards and controls for automation software including; tooling, version control, documentation & segregation between work-in-progress & signed off automation.
  • Re-writing test cases and subsequently automating them to demonstrate the value of the automation and encourage uptake
  • Ensuring that third-parties contributing to testing new initiatives are building automation in a supportable way
  • Liaising with resourcing partners to explain our automation principles and ensuring they are adhered to.
  • Legacy system test automation

 

Candidate Profile / Key Skills

It is expected that with limited supervision the candidate will be able to deliver each of the key objectives of the role identified above. It is therefore expected that he or she MUST have:

  • Sound Technical/Development background – comfortable in the use of 3GL programming languages (e.g. Java/C#//C++/ )
  • Scripting languages (powershell/unix-shell etc)
  • Working Knowledge of tools and technologies such as Selenium, Protractor, AngularJS, NodeJS, WebService/REST API’s, Postman, curl, JUnit etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with colleagues in QA, Development, Architecture, as well as BA’s and Business Users
  • Demonstrable experience in creating Automation frameworks
  • SQL skills to write and execute queries
