Harrington Starr have partnered with a UK-based financial services firm for the hiring of a skilled QA Analyst to join dedicated testing teams servicing company-wide technology projects including Risk, Finance and more.
This new full-time, permanent position will see the successful candidate work effectively with the dev teams, stakeholders and wider QA team to increase and improve quality of the systems being built.
This is a manual testing role, but would suit a skilled tester within Financial Services / Financial Technology with an interest in automation as there may be opportunities to automate manual regression as this role progresses.

Harrington Starr have partnered with a UK-based financial services firm for the hiring of a skilled QA Analyst to join dedicated testing teams servicing company-wide technology projects including Risk, Finance and more.
This new full-time, permanent position will see the successful candidate work effectively with the dev teams, stakeholders and wider QA team to increase and improve quality of the systems being built.
This is a manual testing role, but would suit a skilled tester within Financial Services / Financial Technology with an interest in automation as there may be opportunities to automate manual regression as this role progresses.
Core Responsibilities
- Verification of functionality and quality standards on company products and components
- Detection and investigation of defects, working effectively with developers through to resolution
- Supporting the QA team via developing personal knowledgebase of applications, known defects, testing procedures, etc.
- Writing and executing manual test scripts (using Xray). Performing manual testing of both new and existing products
- Liaising with stakeholders to assist with requirements gathering, providing regular updates and demonstrations
- Developing test conditions, scenarios, cases and scripts according to the specific test phases (e.g. Functional Test, Integration Test, etc.)
- Defining, developing and executing test plans and test cases in order to meet the product goal
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ideally 4+ years’ QA & Testing experience within Financial Services or Technology environments
- Database tool experience with SQL management studio, MongoDB or similar
- Demonstrable API testing experience with tools such as Postman or Swagger
- Log analysis and investigating experience, using tools such as Splunk or similar
- Working understanding of testing methods such as smoke testing, functionality, usability, performance, regression and more
- Various nice to have technology exposure to: AWS, JIRA, Xray, Bitbucket cloud
