We are seeking a passionate Python Developer to join our fast-moving and highly regarded development team. This is your chance to contribute to cutting-edge platforms built on the Microsoft Azure Cloud and make a significant impact in the energy trading industry.

As a Python Developer, you will be responsible for developing high-quality and high-performing software that caters to front, middle, and back-office requirements. Leveraging your strong understanding of the energy trading lifecycle, you will champion Agile and DevOps delivery methodologies to ensure efficient development work within timelines and budgetary constraints.

Joining our team means being part of a collaborative environment where you can work closely with finance and trading business units. From gathering requirements to delivery, you will play a vital role in all aspects of development. Utilizing our in-house continuous delivery pipelines, you will release new features and functionalities to support our trading business.

Key Technical Skills:

Essential:

  • 3+ years of commercial programming experience in Python
  • 1+ year of experience with cloud services such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming
  • Knowledge of relational and/or non-relational databases (we use Postgres)
  • Experience with message queues (we use Kafka)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a pragmatic and practical approach
  • Exposure to test-driven development and integration testing
  • Familiarity with development team tools such as continuous integration systems and version control systems (we use Git)
  • Excellent communication skills

Desirable:

  • Previous knowledge of Energy and commodities trading
  • Experience with data integration and enterprise data warehousing on Microsoft Azure
  • Familiarity with containerization (we use Docker)
  • An operational mindset with knowledge of high availability, monitoring, and diagnostics
  • Understanding of dynamic data mapping and code-free ETL/ELT data integration
  • Familiarity with Azure Identity and Access Management, including column and row-level security
  • Willingness to learn new languages like C# and technologies/tools such as Databricks
