Lead Power BI Developer

We are looking for an experienced Lead Power BI professional to lead this capability on a contract basis and help us setup a Power BI centre of excellence while also key development and data SME skills in development of new Power BI report and support existing ones.

It's a really exciting opportunity to drive the use of Power BI across the organisation and take real ownership of their data needs, as they look to become increasingly data-driven. A successful candidate will be someone who can hit the ground running and who is excited by the opportunity to lead this organisation through the next stage of their data journey.

Responsibilities:

• Design and Develop Power BI reports and dashboards in accordance to the business requirements 

• Lead developers in transforming data from the data warehouse into a suitable format for reporting purposes

• Set-up business function specific data marts for self-service reporting

• Maintain existing Power BI reports and develop new ones in line with organisational requirements

• Execute ad-hoc queries and analysis using tools including SQL Server, Power BI and Excel

• Setup Power BI Centre of Excellence and help users train of developing/ using their own reports

Requirements:

•  Communication skills and an ability to translate complex business processes into simple solutions
•  Strong Power BI development experience - including use of Power Query and DAX
•  Strong SQL development experience - querying databases, building data sets
•  Excel and data analysis skills
•  Prior experience of working with Finance or/and Product Control teams in a trading environment is desired
