An internationally acclaimed algorithmic trading firm, specializing in market making and proprietary trading, is seeking to enhance their Shared Engineering team. The role of Linux Engineer entails joining a highly skilled and specialized team proficient in platform engineering and various coding languages.

 

Within the Shared Engineering team, the selected Linux Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and advancing the common infrastructure and tooling used enterprise-wide. This will encompass a strong focus on enhancing and optimizing the trading platform, which serves as a critical backbone for the firm's OTC (Over-the-Counter) and post-trade technology groups.

 

The Linux Engineer will be engaged in leveraging their expertise to contribute to the ongoing evolution and refinement of the trading platform. This entails collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, utilizing cutting-edge technologies, and implementing innovative solutions to further augment the platform's performance, scalability, and resilience.

  • Support and enhance the technology platform for a thriving financial trading firm, addressing incidents and conducting root cause analysis.

  • Conduct technical assessments to make informed decisions between buying and building solutions.
  • Work independently, managing your own projects and time effectively.

 

Essential Attributes:

 

  • Profound expertise in Linux engineering, encompassing automated build and patching systems, kernel and package updates, performance optimization, system monitoring, and source code debugging.
  • Exceptional command line skills; adept at shell scripting.
  • Proficiency in coding languages such as Python or Go.
  • Experience with configuration management.
  • Knowledge of cloud service providers is desirable.
