Harrington Starr is partnering with a global capital markets consultancy in a search for a Junior Developer / Technical Analyst. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior candidate to work onsite with clients across the United States while being based in their NYC office.
 

Responsibilities:

  • High quality development and testing across multiple platforms to meet functional and technical requirements
  • Liaise with clients and colleagues to further understanding of needs
  • Review and analyze business, functional, and technical requirements
  • Document and develop code according to specifications and standards
  • Prepare test data and plan and conduct basic unit or module testing
  • Provide support for quality assurance testing and defect resolutionParticipate in project team meetings and communicate effectively with peers, architects, system analysts, business analysts, project managers, quality control, and across other technology team boundaries, reporting project status as required
Experience & Skills:
  • 2+ years of experience developing across multiple development frameworks and platforms
  • Solid understanding of at least one common back-end language: Java, Python, Node.js, Go, etc.
  • Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript preferred
  • Understanding of database design principles and experience with SQL databases such as MySQL, Postgres, MSSQL
  • Clear and precise communications skills and ability to work with remote teams
  • Amazing organizational and problem-solving skills, balancing projects and timelines
  • Experience of an Agile / Scrum development methodology
  • B.A./B.S. degree in Computer Science or Math, or commensurate industry experience preferred
