Java Senior Developer and Architect, cross asset front and middle office technology, global financial institution which is expanding in London.

This relatively small yet global financial institution is looking for a regional architect to complement their architecture presence in North America. The business is expanding significantly in London and is now in position to hire it’s first architect. The role will work with the regional development lead and the award winning global architect who are responsible for the future of their cross asset trading system.

The architecture is currently mainly a Java based modular, microservices architecture, they use C++ and Datasynapse for their grid computing needs, they also use Cassandra and hadoop for some aspects of the system as well as Angular and HTML5 for their front end. They are also working towards CI/CD/Devops and use some vendor platforms including Broadway Technologies and Murex.

Whilst there is an interesting and up to date architecture in place, there is still a lot of work to be done in what is a progressive technical environment. The team is building a new cross asset trading system, on top of this there is regulatory work around mifid 2 and other more European aspects of the system to build into the global platform.

The team is looking for a hybrid architect and developer, circa 50/50 in terms of experience and current responsibilities, they need someone with experience of working on front and/or middle office components of trading systems of at least one asset class, whilst equities and FX are preferable to fill in experience gaps, any asset class including commodities is useful.

This is an excellent opportunity for an up and coming developer and architect to join a growing team, they are building a modern architecture using modern development methodologies and there is a significant mark to be made by whoever takes the role, it will have the support of an excellent architect and a very strong regional lead also.
