The company

My client is a seed funded fintech start-up that offers an innovative platform to banks, wealth managers and IFA’s allowing them to better support their own customer’s financial goals. They are using cutting edge technology combined with partnerships with some major institutions to change how both SME and retails customers manage their money.

The role

  • As the first Head of Business development you will work closely with the founders to define and implement the sales strategy
  • Sell the platform to banks, wealth managers and IFA’s ranging from small boutiques to market leaders
  • Recruit, manage and drive the performance of a small team initially with further growth pencilled for the next 18 months and beyond
  • Build and manage a pipeline of prospective customers and work with the Head of Propositions to shape a number of direct, partner and white label deals
  • This is a player-coach role which is expected to move towards fully managerial over the coming years as the business grows

Essential Requirements

  • Experience managing a sales/business development team
  • A background selling into the wealth and/or IFA community
  • Accustomed to closing enterprise deals often involving profit share and/or complex licence agreements
  • A genuine interest in joining an early stage start-up
  • Proven record of winning business and growing revenues
