Overview:
- Managing accounts directly, developing strategies for winning new business from existing clients
- Creating plans for retaining current customers.
- Managing teams of account managers who are responsible for servicing accounts within specific industries/markets
- Communicating regularly with senior management about projects or opportunities for new business
- Developing and implementing marketing campaigns that effectively reach target demographics
- Reviewing reports to identify patterns in consumer behaviour, purchasing trends, and competitor activity within the industry
- Managing client accounts to ensure that they are satisfied with the level of service they are receiving
Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee a team of account managers, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities
Ensure that clients are satisfied with the products and services they receive, and that their needs are being met in a timely and efficient manner
Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and grow existing accounts
Monitor market trends and competitor activity, and adjust plans accordingly to maintain a competitive edge
Negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors and suppliers
Prepare reports for upper management detailing account status, growth opportunities, and areas of improvement
Train and mentor account managers on best practices, industry trends, and company procedures
Attend trade shows and networking events on behalf of the company
Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts
Resolve customer complaints and issues in a prompt and professional manner
Generate new business leads and follow up on potential opportunities
Maintain accurate records of all account activity
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Master’s degree in business, marketing, or related field
10+ years experience in account management, sales, or customer service
Experience managing a team of account managers
In-depth knowledge of the industry and market trends
