DevOps Engineer - Remote working offered - AWS / Terraform/CloudFormation / CI/CD - Outside IR35 - £550-600pd - 6 Month Contract

Harrington Starr are working in collaboration with a FinTech who are seeking a Mid/Senior - level DevOps Engineer who has a passion for Technology to join their company in a new function.

This DevOps Engineer will be instrumental in working within the organisations engineering group. This role will be responsible for enhancing and supporting new and existing DevOps processes/culture.

The responsibilities for this DevOps Engineer role are:

  • Designing, developing and maintaining cloud infrastructure using IaaC.
  • Building and configuring tools to simplify the management of our cloud infrastructure, with a focus on automating operational tasks.
  • Improving visibility across our stacks by enhancing monitoring and alerting capabilities.
  • Ensuring the security of our cloud infrastructure, hardening deployments and responding to findings of third-party penetration tests.
  • Maintaining uptime and availability across our entire cloud estate.
  • Championing DevOps practices within the organisation.

Ideal Knowledge needed:

  • Excellent understanding of AWS and cloud technologies.
  • 3+ years cloud infrastructure experience in enterprise level systems.
  • Experience or knowledge of the well architected framework, DevOps, agile development and cloud design principles.
  • Familiarity with deployment automation technologies (Ansible, Chef, Terraform, Cloudformation DSC, etc).
  • Strong appreciation of information security.
  • Understanding of networks and network security.
  • Proven problem-solving capability.
  • AWS certified or equivalent experience in proven environment.
  • Quick learner and able to interact with a range of professionals including external 3rd party engineering consultants and internal Cassini developers and senior management.
  • Programming knowledge, preferably Python.
  • Basic understanding of Linux System Administration including terminal and bash scripts
