Desktop Support Field Engineer

Desktop Support Field Engineer, Downtown Boston, $75,000 - $85,000 base salary

I am working with an IT company which is hiring a Desktop Support Field Engineer to be based in their downtown Boston office supporting their clients which are primarily hedge funds. The Dekstop Support Field Engineer will spend about 50% of their time in the IT company’s office and about 50% of their time traveling to client sites around downtown Boston (typically 1 or 2 clients per day).

Candidates should have at least 5 years’ experience working in desktop support with some exposure to light server administration experience. Communications skills and a track record of dealing with high-profile / VIP clients providing “white-glove” customer service in a fast-paced, sometimes high-pressure environment is key. Experience in the financial industry is a plus, although other environments like healthcare and law offices would also be valuable.

Technical requirements:

  • Active Directory
  • Windows
  • Microsoft Exchange Server
  • Citrix XenApp and/or VMware vSphere and VPN connectivity
  • Troubleshooting hardware
  • TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP troubleshooting (network support)
  • ActiveSync and mobile technology support
  • Experience with financial applications preferred (Bloomberg, Eze, Neovest)
