Are you a database engineer / developer with leadership experience looking to head a small, collaborative team (3-4 people) essential to the success of a growing organization?  My client is a very successful, model-driven investment firm that offers high compensation, perks/benefits befitting the best startups, and the stability of a growing mid-sized company.  This is an essential hire for them and you'll be directly involved in developing new database services, best practices, performance tuning, and scalability.

Ideal candidates:

  • Have 7+ years of relational DB engineering/supporting experience involving distributed systems.
  • Have 2+ years of experience managing or mentoring an engineering team.
  • Have a strong programming background in Java, C++, or Python.
  • Hands on experience with NoSQL systems such as HBase, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
  • Are proficient with PL/SQL/T-SQL query languages.
  • Have engineered databases supporting high performance / high requirement applications-- preferably Trading systems, but not necessary.
  • Will be familiar with automation and operational best practices.
  • Are communicative, collaborative, and empathetic to the end users (the databases support internal applications used by all teams).
