Opportunity for an experienced Database Engineer to join a global bank and take ownership for the data function in a multi-jurisdictional division.
The transaction reporting platform is being modernised into a microservice-cloud-based architecture. A skilled database engineer is required to work closely with engineers, BAs and Product Owners to design scalable databases for the various different services.
You need expert-level knowledge of the internal working of PostgresSQL database (incl support for JSON)
Experience with SQL and table design for multi-terabyte data sets
Strong understanding of AWS cloud storage
Big bonus for experience working with NoSQL/Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark.
