Harrington Starr has partnered with a Leading Investment Bank as they seek to add a talented Data Analytics Engineer to their small, world-class Data Science team based in London.

Our global client is the current market leader in their field of expertise and specialise in providing an extensive array of banking and advisory services encompassing investment banking, financial markets and equities.

 

As a Data Analytics Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting their investment banking activities by leveraging data analytics and advanced technologies to extract actionable insights from large and complex datasets. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, traders, and business analysts, to develop innovative data-driven solutions and provide decision support for investment strategies.

What you need:

  • BSc, MSc, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Analytics Engineer, Data Scientist, or similar role in the financial services industry, preferably within an investment banking environment.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or Java, with experience in data manipulation, analysis, and modeling.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) for processing large datasets.
  • Expertise with data visualisation tools (e.g., Qlik, Tableau) to create interactive dashboards and reports.
  • Experience collaborating with data engineering teams to design and optimise data infrastructure, ensuring efficient data storage, retrieval, and processing capabilities for analytics purposes
  • Familiarity with financial instruments, market data, and investment strategies is preferred.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and big data technologies is a plus.

My client is offering a salary of up to £100,000 for this hire alongside a comprehensive benefits package to include market-leading bonuses. Their office is based in Central London, and they are operating a hybrid remote working policy.
