global energy services and solutions provider have a newly created job opportunity for a skilled Application Support Specialist to join their London office in playing a pivotal role in the firm’s European growth.
This new full-time, permanent position will see the successful candidate working as a core member of the front-line application support team and will work closely with the head of application support in company-wide improvements and automation.
This excellent new opportunity would suit a support professional skilled in SQL, coming from a financial services or energy / trading background who has 2 – 5 years’ experience.


Core Responsibilities

  • Work effectively as key member of front-line Application Support team resolving incidents and service request queries.
  • Ownership of incidents, service requests and problem tickets that are assigned to the Application Support Team
  • Escalate incidents where appropriate and liaise with the Head of Application Support to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Innovate and work with the Head of Application Support to implement improvements, automation and self-service capabilities into existing processes and applications
  • Willingness to gain comprehensive understanding of trading applications and become the subject matter expert (SME)
  • Provide daily assistance to users of the system across different departments and locations.
  • Work with the Head of Application Support to monitor application usage, identify knowledge gaps, and report on areas for user education to optimise effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • 2 – 5 years’ experience within similar role within Financial Services or Energy/Trading/Oil & Gas
  • Demonstrable SQL skills
  • ITSM tools experience – Service Desk Plus, Service Now, Zendesk or similar
  • Any ERP systems, database, cloud-based applications experience is desirable
  • Experienced in supporting business critical applications, web applications & more
  • ITIL standards knowledge is a bonus
