The support engineer is the primary resource for identifying root cause of issues with our proprietary software systems.  This position will engage in production support, monitoring, data quality, implementations and governance responsibilities.

The ideal candidate has 2-4 years of experience in roles such as support, development, quality assurance, and systems analyst.  This is a fast paced position that is constantly changing tasks and focus. The position requires an individual that isn’t afraid to take initiative and complete tasks with low supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Application Support Engineer role will cover the following activities


  • Monitoring and troubleshooting of End User issues throughout technology stack (including server and desktop environments)
  • Identifying data anomalies
  • Liaising between specialist teams based in UK and US and external clients
  • Ability to manage issue resolution working with a variety of different teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – must have the ability to present technical information in a clear, concise manner to a variety of audiences
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills
    • An aptitude for applying lessons learned in future troubleshooting scenarios
    • An aptitude for understanding data flow concepts with an eye for identifying points of failure

Qualifications and Experience

  • Windows scripting (Powershell, VBscript, Batch, etc.)
  • MS SQL Server 2008 R2 and above, including writing TSQL
  • Windows Server experience 2008 R2 and above
  • Linux experience
  • AWS exposure
  • Web Technologies
    • API Requests
    • HTTP-Get, HTTP-Post, Soap
    • Understanding of AJAX, Javascript and HTML


  • SAN awareness and understanding
  • VMWare Experience
  • Cloud based solutions with containerisation and automation
  • Familiarity with non-MS technology, Linux, Apache, MySQL
  • Monitoring and capacity management tools
  • Understanding of governance and security frameworks (eg ITIL, ISO 27001 etc)
