Network Engineer – £600-£700 per day – Inside IR35
Location: London with the option for Remote working within the UK.
You'll be working for a leading financial institution, ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of corporate IT infrastructure across the UK and Europe. This role is a mix of hands-on support, project-driven work, and system optimization, requiring expertise in networking, virtualization, and system administration.
What you’ll be doing:
- First-line support for infrastructure-related issues, troubleshooting, and resolution
- Managing and optimizing VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft Windows environments
- Administering and maintaining RedHat Linux servers
- Handling Active Directory group administration
- Supporting SAN storage solutions—configuration, upgrades, and performance optimization
- Working within security best practices to maintain a highly secure environment
- Driving infrastructure improvements and contributing to key projects
What you’ll need:
- 7+ years in IT infrastructure support, with 3+ years in financial environments
- Strong experience with VMware and Citrix (installing, upgrading, optimizing)
- Deep understanding of Windows Server & Workstation environments
- Working knowledge of RedHat Linux
- Experience managing SAN storage solutions
- Scripting experience (PowerShell preferred)
- Familiarity with IT governance in banking environments
- Ability to communicate technical details in both business and technical terms
Bonus skills:
- Experience with ITIL processes and change management
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and regulatory compliance
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
