Michelle is an HR professional with extensive experience in a number of different industries and is here to share her stories and some of the learns along the way.
Her career at Zopa started after Michelle decided to make a career change whilst on maternity leave. Diversity and flexibility were crucial factors when deciding her “new home”, and she shares the importance of being transparent to prospective employers from day one.
Zopa pride themselves in being 'diverse in people, but also diverse in approach' and Michelle reflects that in every aspect of her role as Lead People Partner.
She shares, “as we have our conversations, we always think about: do we have different views within the room? And if we don’t then we need to step back and make sure that we have that challenge. Otherwise, you’ll have a load of people who think exactly the same, who will come up with products that only meet a very siloed section of the world.”
This episode is full of tangible actions that people of all seniorities can take to help their companies become more inclusive and supportive for all.
